New Haircut Alert!!!

Saturday, April 10, 2010

Yesterday I got a haircut. I was NOT happy that another lady was doing it besides my Grandma Kaye! I made it very clear that I did not want to have my hair cut. Thomas, a sucker, the spray bottle, even my Nana.....nothing made it better. However, I had no idea that Amy, the hairstylist, was a kid hair -cutting ninja. She showed no fear and started chopping away on my unruly locks. Mom kept me in a half headlock- half sleeper hold so the hair cutting ninja could do her thing. So, here is the final product:

Oh, and there was ZERO pictures taken inside while I was getting my hair cut due to the fit I threw. At least we have a photo of the sign. :) More pictures to come soon......as soon as I give Mom a break!

Happy 27 Months to Me!!!

Thursday, April 8, 2010

Today is my 27th month birthday! Can you believe I am fast on my way to 2.5 years!?

My day started out with Nana and I tackling my backyard. I needed to give my sand table and playhouse a good cleaning. I was so excited to play in the water and with all the worms that had gathered under my playhouse. I was fascinated with them!

Next, we went to Toys R Us where I got to try out all the power wheels. I had my eye on several of the big trucks. I can't wait to get a hold of one of those in the back yard. I didn't get one this trip but I did get my very first baseball tee and glove. Mommy is soooooo excited! She is going to make a ball player outta me! Oh, and I also got a more elaborate "practice" lawn mower and Daddy said he was going to make a grass cutter outta me!

Then, we came back home and I got to do something I have never done before. I got to help cook! Tonight's menu was Bacon Cheeseburger Meatloaf . Everyone said it was delicious that tried it. Of course, I said Nah and chose to eat fish sticks and sweet potato fries. Everyone was happy and I was especially happy because I got to help do the dishes. Nana said that I was the best helper ever!

Life is fabulous!

Fun with Nana!!!

Monday, April 5, 2010

My Nana is here!!!! I am so excited that she is here to play with me all day. She flew in on Sunday evening to visit for a few days. I was a little shy at first but I warmed up to Nana in no time. I quickly remembered how much fun she is to play with! We spent the first night playing in the backyard. Nana is really good at spotting airplanes in the sky. We also drew pictures with chalk. I had so much fun and I feel like the luckiest little boy this week to get to spend time with Nana. Thank you Nana for coming to visit. You were the best present the Easter Bunny could give me this year!

Easter Morning 2010

Sunday, April 4, 2010

Easter morning.....wow! I got some good loot from the Easter Bunny! I have had a wonderful Easter. I wanted to take a moment and thank everyone for helping make my holiday "eggstra" special. Thank you to Great Grandma and Grandpa, Grandma and Grandpa Kaye, Nana, Aunt Diane and Uncle Steve, and the Easter Bunny. I am a very blessed little boy and I am so very thankful for such a wonderful family. I love each and every one of you!

Happy Easter to My Peeps!!

Sunday, April 4, 2010

What a day! After a grueling wait in a line at the mall, Mom and Dad plopped me down in the lap of a BIG BUNNY! I was speechless! Why do my parents keep doing this to me!? First it was the big guy with a beard in a red suit named "Santa" and now the "Easter Bunny!" today! Isn't there a number that I can call to report this kind of torture/abuse on a toddler? Needless to say after being placed on the bunny's lap, Mom bolted on me! I was shocked! Then there was a lady with a camera shaking a maracca begging me to smile. Yeah right! I was ready to tell her where to shake that maracca. After numerous attempts to get any kind of facial expression out of me (besides fear and disbelief), they gave up and this is what we got:

Ick the Tick!

Friday, April 2, 2010

Mommy wanted to wait until today to tell you about Ick the Tick. She didn't think you all would believe her on April Fool's Day. Long story short....yesterday I was throwing a fit and Mommy spotted something on my head. It looked like dried blood so she took a closer look to figure out what in the world I had done to my ead. Well, when she first got a good look at it she knew immediately that it was a tick! The tick had already embedded itself in my head and was engorged. Mom panicked! She tried to remove the tick with tweezers adn an alcohol swab. Ick the Tick was not moving! Of course, my frantic state probably didn't help much. So Mom did what any first time Mommy would do.....She took me to the ER at the med center.

As soon as we got there, they took me on back and confirmed that Ick was indeed a Tick. The doctor looked at it and decided that he would numb the area around Ick before trying to remove it. So, the nurse put some numbing gel on my head and Mommy had to hold a gauze square on the spot. Well, lo and behold, Ick backed out on his own! Mommy was ecstatic!!! From what we can tell, it was probably a wood tick based on it's size. However, it was hard to tell being that it was engorged. Regardless of the type, we got to it in plenty of time before any disease is passed. The magic number is 36 to 72 hours. We found Ick within 24 hours.

The doctor felt this was a big moment in a little boy's life so he gave me Ick in a clear bag to put in my baby book. You know....first curl....first tooth.....and first tick! The staff at the ER was so unbelievably nice. They made Mommy feel like she made a good choice in bringing me on in. Everyone thought that I was very well behaved and adorable. I was wearing blue so I have to agree that I was looking pretty good! I also got to see the helicopter take off and land. It was so cool!

All and all...it was a great day. We all learned a little about tick and how important it is to always DOUBLEcheck for those little guys!
