Rough Day

Thursday, July 29, 2010

Today was a rough day. I went my friend's house for a little ice cream party and while I was there, I had an allergic reaction to something. It was crazy! I do have a milk allergy but I have never had a reaction like this before. Plus I didn't even touch ice cream while I was there. I was playing around with everyone else and I started to itch. My face blotched up and my eye started to swell. The blotchy rash spread all over my face, neck, back and tummy. Thank goodness the Mom who was hosting the party had some Zyrtec that Mommy was able to give me. After a short contemplation, Mom decided that she should try and get me to Urgent Care or the pediatrician. By the time I was loaded in the car and we hit the main road, my rash started to fade and the swelling and itches started going away as well. By that time, the pediatrician advised to let the medicine do it's job and for us to follow up with the Allergist soon.

The popular question...what exactly caused this reaction? No one knows. It's hard to tell being that it has never happened before. Being that I was diagnosed with a milk allergy, I am at a greater risk of environmental allergies to things such a pollen, ragweed, pet dander, and etc. For now we are just going to wait and see if we have another reaction like this again. Fingers crossed this was a random incident and that I don't have any other allergy. I love playing outside and would be devastated if this became a regular occurrence.

Just a little off the top!

Tuesday, July 27, 2010

Today I went and got my hair cut at Kids Kutters in Lemoyne. That place is awesome! I, as usual, had a little episode. Mommy had to hold me while the lady went to work cutting my hair. Mommy didn't really think I needed a hair cut quite yet, but you know my Dad....he likes SHORT, SHORT hair on us boys. So, I got it cut a tad shorter than usual. I have to say that I prefer my Grandma Kaye to cut my hair. I never cry when she does it.

Shank Park...again!

Monday, July 26, 2010

Mommy and I got to go back to one of our favorite parks today. We decided to meet up with my good friend Spencer and play at Shank Park. Spencer brought his cousin Ayden. Ayden is older than Spencer and I but he plays really well with us. We all three had a blast. Before meeting my friends, Mommy and I went on a hike through the park's walking/jogging trails. It is such a beautiful place with all the trees. Mommy was afraid to let me go too far down the trail because there was no way that she was willing to pack me back to the car. Of course, I had to take my stuffed animal of the week, Mr. Bear, along with me for the hike.

Dog Days of Summer

Friday, July 23, 2010

Oh my goodness...the dog days of summer is in full force. It is so incredibly hot right now I have retreated to the indoors. Mommy and I tried out a new park with my good buddy Spencer. Man, it was hot even for us. We got there about 40 minutes before Spencer and we ended up staying about 30 more minutes when he got there. We couldn't handle the heat anymore. The park was absolutely awesome though. I had a blast before I got too hot. The park is called Adventure Zone and it is in Mechanicsburg. Turns out it is only about 20 some minutes from us. Not bad! There was lots to do there. Plenty of swings and slides for everyone. There was also something called the alphabet cove. In the cove, there was letters all over the place. I had so much fun finding them and telling Mommy about each one. I love my letters! With the heat, Mommy didn't get to take a lot of pictures. However, she did get a few of Spence and I.

Summer Colds

Wednesday, July 21, 2010

Did you miss me? Mommy and I have been having a pesky, summer cold this past week. I have been a wee bit clingy because of this. Mom and I have had to stick close to the house and thankfully, we both seem to be on the mend now. Nothing serious....we just didn't want to spread any nasty, germs to all our friends. Despite the cold, we still have managed to have some great days. One day we went for a walk down to the river. I got to see boats and the water up close. Another day we went to a park that is really close to the house.....like 5 minutes away! I got to see train tracks up close. I was really hoping to see a train but that hasn't happened yet. One day......

Photos from Robbie Land

Sunday, July 18, 2010

I totally forgot to share pics from my Robbieland adventure the other day. Mommy has been taking LOTS of photos of me lately! Don't worry Grandpa Kaye....Mom almost has the entire external hard drive full that you gave her. She's slowly making her way through my 1st year of life. Progress is good but the process is so tedious because she doesn't want to over look a single picture and accidentally delete it.

Shaffner Park

Saturday, July17, 2010

Well, I finally found a park that I hadn't been to yet. Mommy and I joined some of my friends on Thursday and boy did we have fun. Spencer's Mommy gave me lots of books. My favorite was the one with a motorcycle, dump truck, crane, and boat in it. I love it! We also spent the afternoon with my good friend Robbie. He has lots of water toys in the yard so I went to enjoy some sun and fun. I had a great time! Robbie's house is always fun because there is lots of room to run around, a train tables, and lots of dogs....well, only 2 but that is a lot to me. I always have a blast. I was so tuckered out from my all day adventure that I napped really good and slept in my room all night long. What a great day!
