Long Day

Thursday, September 17, 2009

Today was a VERY long day. I got up at 5:30 and only took a one hour nap about 10am. I was not feeling at the top of my game. It worked out pretty well because Mom and I both felt like laying around all day. I would play for about 15 minutes and then I wanted to take a rest. Mommy is hoping that I am a little more spunky tomorrow.

Wild Hair Wednesday

Wednesday, September 16, 2009

Today was wild hair Wednesday. Daddy likes to suck my hair up in the vacuum. It always gives me such a wild new hair do! I am finally bigger than the shop vac. Isn't that so cool!?

Mommy's Home!

Tuesday, September 15, 2009

Today Mommy had her Remicade infusion. The actual infusion went really well but it was an adventure up until the infusion. When Mommy went there they first asked if she needed to do bloodwork. She told them no that she had never had to do it before. However, Mommy had talked to her doctor yesterday about some issues going on so she thought maybe he had ordered it to see if anything was going on with her blood. Well, the receptionist called her doctor (which turned out not to be her doctor) and they gave her the go ahead. Come to find out, they had her doctor listed as Dr. Harvey, a cancer specialist. All of her orders were wrong! After about an hour of waiting, they finally got everything straightened out and she was able to get her infusion.

Before they started the Remicade, benadryll, and solumedrol her doctor came down to check on her and find out what all was going on that has been bugging her. Right now, Dr. Evans thinks that Mommy may be developing antibodies to the Remicade making it be less effective. He is going to spend the next week trying to figure out a new plan of action to keep Mommy healthy. Right now, he is leaning towards adding another drug to Remicade so we can buy some more time before switching to Humira. There is a limited number of biological drugs that are approved with treating Crohn's so it is very important to get the most out of each drug.

Daddy did a wonderful job taking care of me today. I had a blast spendinf the day with Dad. Mommy came home and went to sleep for a little bit. While she was asleep, we snuck out to McDonalds to get some dinner. I love when it is Daddy's turn to cook! I got a cool hot wheel that I played with all evening. I think this one may be my favorite car yet!

I love to play my piano these days! I can rock out all day long!

Just workin' on my tan!

Houston, we have a problem!

Yes, I pulled my doggy chair clear across the room and plopped it in front of the TV so I could get a better view of Yo Gabba.

Big Boy Swing!!!

Monday, September 14, 2009

Today I got to swing in the big boy swing! Of course I had a little help from Dad. He kept a good hold on me while I got to swing a little bit. I soon traded it in for my trusty blue swing. Just as I was going good, my neighbor Dave walked over with the weirdest thing.....a baby! He saw that we were out playing and he brought over Kennedy, his grand-daughter to meet me. I was very skeptical about her. I just liked to look at her but I wouldn't even touch her hand. Mommy told me that I was a lot smaller than her at one point. Mommy almost got teary eyed because the little baby made her realize that I am a big boy now!

Be sure to say extra prayers tomorrow....Mommy has her Remicade infusion and she is going to meet with her doctor. Fingers crossed that Mommy comes home rejuvenated!

No Rain!

Sunday, September 13, 2009

Today was another great day! Daddy worked early so he was home to eat dinner with us and play outside. I was so excited when my Daddy came home that I just started running around in circles. Mommy went and got me some board walk fries and they were yummy! After dinner, we all ran around the backyard whacking a golf ball at each other. Daddy counted and I ran 10 times back and forth across the yard. I was so tired that I went to sleep in my swing!

Two Seconds?

Saturday, September 12, 2009

I have to tell you a funny story from last night. Mommy was on the phone with Nana and she was trying to find something on the computer for Nana when I politely came into the kitchen and started yelling for soy. Mommy turned to me and asked a simple question : Can you just give me two seconds!? My reply : Naaaahhh. I am sure glad that Nana and Mommy found it so funny. Needless to say, Mommy promptly got me some soy.

This is the life! Maybe I could do some print ads for Nature's Promise.

It was hard work eating so I had to take a little snooze.

Yummy in my tummy!

Snooze #2.

Daddy told me that I couldn't eat the string on my blender that John Blue gave me.

He then tried to explain why plastic and string would not be good for my belly.

My Daddy

Friday, September 11, 2009

This is a picture of Daddy and I watching a big airplane fly over to the airport. I can spot them as soon as I hear them. We see a lot of planes because we are really close to the airport. I used to be afraid of them but I am not so afraid anymore. The trains are a different story. I still get frightened when I hear the whistle. Mommy thinks it's because I can't actually see them and if I saw what was making the noise I would probably not be as afraid. One day, they told me that I can go down to the river and watch a train go by.
