The Pumpkin Patch Adventure

Monday, October 20, 2008

So Mom, where exactly IS the pumpkin patch? Did I miss something? Okay, everyone got ready this morning and we loaded up the car to head to the pumpkin patch. I am not sure what happened but I dozed off in my car seat for a little bit and when I woke up we were at a gas station eating pizza from Pizza Hut Express. Okay, I didn't get to eat pizza but I was having a good bottle of soy. What the hay, did I miss the pumpkin patch? Well, apparently the pumpkin patch looked like a field on the side of the road with not even one pumpkin in site. I guess Mommy's research wasn't too good for this adventure. Mommy was so disappointed because she wanted me to get my first pumpkin today. After we got home, Mommy went back out to find me a pumpkin. I have to say that it is the most beautiful pumpkin that I have ever seen! I love it!

I had just woke up from my nap. Can you tell I was a little grumpy?

At least it was pretty on the way to NOWHERE!!!

Mommy still found me a little pumpkin today.

I liked it so much I licked it.

I decided to hit the road with my pumpkin!

Another good day!

Sunday, October 19, 2008

Well, today was another good day. I got to spend the entire day playing. What more could a boy want? Daddy had to work but he is going to be off the next two days. I think I overheard Mommy talking about going to a pumpkin patch tomorrow. I sure hope she takes me and Nana!

On Tuesday, I have another doctor visit. Daddy's telling me that it I am going to a party but I know better. I may have fallen for that trick last time but I am well over 9 months now and I am a lot smarter.

I am lightning fast!

Boooooorrrring! Just feed me already!

How can you say no to this face? Just one more mum-mum.

Fine. I will eat my toy.

This is what we call a "neck check"!

Shopping with my ladies!

Saturday, October 18, 2008

Mommy finally started feeling better so we all decided to go shopping. She really had some pain from her infusion and didn't get much sleep last night. However, this afternoon our prayers were answered and Mommy didn't have pain in her legs and head anymore.

Nana made me wear pants being that we were going out in public. They weren't too bad, and I must say that I looked pretty cute. Nana and Pa let me pick out a friend that is going to come live with me on Christmas Day. His name is Elmo and he can talk. He is such a funny guy and I think we are going to be great friends. So how much longer until Christmas?

I also got something that I really needed and wanted today. I got my very first brush! Before today, I only had a comb but now I am the proud owner of a brush. I am hoping that I can achieve some more body in my hair with my new tool. I can't wait to try it out.

Mommy and Nana think that I am working on two more teeth.

Nana always makes me laugh. She entertained me while Mommy napped this morning.

Hey Mom, you're up!

We're going where?

Ah, do I have to wear pants?

Okay! I'll go!

Nana's here!

Friday, October 17, 2008

My Nana is here. Her flight was perfect and she arrived right on time this afternoon. I got to spend the morning with Daddy while Mommy had her Remicade treatment and picked up Nana at the airport. Mommy was hoping her infusion would get finished early so she could come home to get me before heading to the airport. However, they almost under dosed Mommy again and had to reorder the correct dosage, so I didn't get to make it to the airport.

I have to admit something. I was a little afraid of Nana when she got here. Granted, it was about my nap time and I was a little tired. However, I quickly warmed up to her and we are best buddies again. I got to spend the afternoon with her and Daddy because Mommy was feeling pretty crappy from her treatment. Nana and I couldn't believe that she slept through all the fun we were having in the living room today.

Mommy always feels a little bad after her treatments and they actually upped her dosage by 50 mg. Hopefully, this dosage will stick with her over the next 8 weeks. She also spoke with her doctor and they want to send her to a Rheumatologist to help her with the joint pain she has had over the last couple of weeks. Right now she is able to manage the pain with pain medication, but hopefully the specialist may be able to offer an alternative treatment. Mommy needs to be in tip top shape to keep up with me!

This is how Mommy found me before she left for the hospital this morning. I was all hugged up to my buddy George.

Mommy was hoping the flash on the camera wouldn't wake me up. She said she couldn't resist taking the picture.

Guess who is coming to see me?

Thursday, October 16, 2008

Guess who is coming to see me? My Nana is going to fly the friendly skies to come see me. She is scheduled to arrive sometime after my morning nap. I am so excited. I was so excited tonight that I couldn't sit still to eat. Mommy then convinced me that I needed to practice eating mum mums so I could show off my mad skills to Nana tomorrow. Mommy goes for another Remicade infusion in the morning and she is going to pick Nana up on her way back home. Mommy is really excited to have some extra help this coming week. Sometimes her Remicade infusion makes her a little exhausted and now that I am mobile, it would have been hard on her. Hopefully, they will get her dosage correct this time and Mommy want have pain like she has had the last couple of weeks.

I hope Nana remembers me when she sees me. I have changed a lot since I last saw her. I have a full head of hair and I can move around faster than Big D and Jersey! I also want to thank my Pa for letting me borrow Nana for a week. I promise that we won't keep her for six months this time!

Dallas started begging me for a mum mum as soon as I sat down!

I tried to eat my rusk and ignore the darn cat.

I had to tell him NO again!

Mmmmm....I love my mum mums.

I can't seem to get it in my mouth quick enough!

Just a little tune up...

Wednesday, October 15, 2008

So today I needed to give my jumperoo a little tune up. Dad always points out that it creaks when I am jumping. Mom insisted that I needed to take care of my own toys. So, I rolled up my sleeves and checked it out. The diagnosis.....the jumperoo is in great shape. Plus, I realized that the jumperoo is just as much fun underneath! I guess that is a good thing considering how fast I am growing and will soon be to big to fit in the seat.

Woodchuck

Tuesday, October 14, 2008

How much wood can a woodchuck chuck? Who knows? The real question is how much wood can I (Brady) chuck! Well, I will tell you the answer...Not too much being that Mom bought a teething guard for my crib. The past couple of mornings I have been greeting my Mommy by gnawing on the crib as she walks in the room. I don't think Mom has ever moved so quickly to get me out of my crib. I have to say, I thought it was pretty funny to see her face every time I started to chew on my crib. Mommy is still kicking herself because she didn't get a crib guard earlier when she wanted. Who would have thought I would love the taste of wood!
